For the design of onshore facilities, the Civil/Structural Engineer must have experience in the design for foundations, structures and general civil works for onshore facilities, including modular structures, interpretation of soils data, seismic hazard and soils data interpretation, corrosion protection design, and structural analysis (in-service, lifting, transportation, etc)

The civil/Structural Engineer must be degree qualified and have experience with civil and structural design in accordance with the applicable international codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Performing a Civil Engineer’s role on Site for a EPC Contractor whom is responsible for design, supply, construction, erection and commissioning of a coal fired steam turbine generation power plant.
• Liaising with third parties, contractors and sub-contractors to ensure compliance with scope requirements
• Check compliance with QA/QC, Safety/Environment matters.
• Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance Program
• Safety – Responsible for personal safety and Safe Working Practices. Understand and follow OH&S procedures.
• To be familiarized with and fully understand the technical and commercial requirements of the project.
• To monitor, review and comment on design and engineering performed by sub-contractors with reference to Specifications, Indonesian regulations, good utility practice and other industrial standards, as appropriate
• To attend inspection and testing activities as and when needed.
• To be able to scrutinize Contractor’s reporting and support the Civil Lead to ascertain the validity of the actual progress reported by Civil Contractor
• To coordinate with all participants and draft documents as and when requested by EPC contractor
• To participate on regular site meetings, support on minutes preparation, follow up and resolve pending technical issues.
• To prepare daily site reports to record all site activities
• To generate defect punch lists.
• 15+ years of Civil Engineering experience with large projects
• Must have a least a degree in Civil Engineering
• Team player with excellent personality and able to take orders from superiors including but not limited to Civil Lead, Engineering Manager, Construction Manager and Project Manager.
• Communication skills – verbal, written – Is able to communicate effectively and professionally in a range of situations and using sensitivity with peers and customers as required.
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Fully conversant with applicable design and engineering standards
• Familiar with local codes and standards and local authority requirements (e.g. ANDAL, etc)
• Must have experience working with Windows based systems
